Slippery Rock University's budget landscape isn't the prettiest of sights. After dealing with a $5 million deficit in 2009-10, President Robert Smith was left with no other option than to have everyone at the university cut back on spending.
While most college students were spending the end of their summer going back to school shopping and getting their last rays at the beach, SRU football players were enduring high temperatures and long practices as they were preparing for the 2010 campaign.

Ground has been broken at the construction site of the new student union, President Robert Smith announced Thursday at the SGA meeting. President Smith said when finished, the union will span the size of half of a city block.
