The SRU women's soccer team (10-5-3 overall, 6-5-3 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference-West Division) finished out its season with a bang, taking care of Gannon University (10-7-1, 8-5-1) at home Saturday, 2-1. Gannon struck first in the eighth minute on a solid shot to the top corner of the net, but couldn't sustain the lead as SRU answered back with a goal off a rebound 25 seconds later for junior forward Juliana Howell.… Post the First Comment

The Rock couldn't have made it look any easier Saturday as it held a winless Lock Haven University of Pennsylvania to -4 offensive yards. End of season nears for volleyball
The SRU volleyball team took three more steps last week to get closer to the end of the regular season. Last Wednesday, the Green and White lost to Point Park University (27-7 overall, 7-4 AMC). The Rock led off the match with a first set victory (26-24), but numerous errors throughout the rest of the game led to the Rock's demise in the following three sets (22-25, 25-14, 25-19).… Post the First Comment

Rock punter Kyle Witman's job on the field is often overlooked by other positions, but is just as important in many ways. Witman, ranked fourth in the nation, has punted 51 times this season for 2,131 yards. He's averaging 41.8 yards per punt, has had 12 punts over 50 yards-his longest being 65-and has pinned opponents inside their own 20-yard line 18 times this year.… 1 Comment
