When looking to find out the latest fashion trends, we turn to magazines, television or the Internet. But recently, an entirely new type of fashion has emerged. Not from popular designers or corporate clothing companies, but from technology.

Nanotechnology is offering a new way of processing fabric that could revolutionize the clothing industry. It has skyrocketed in the past few years introducing remarkable intelligence in cell phones, cars and other tech savvy items that far surpass anything we have ever seen before. Fortunately for fashion enthusiasts, nanotechnology is no longer limited to electronic devices and automobiles. Major companies like Nano-Tex have turned their technology innovations to clothing.

Nanotech is introducing what have come to be known as "smart clothes." These innovations are sure to shock and impress as a number of new ideas are being introduced. Imagine being on a first date with someone you really like, and then spilling your glass of wine all over him or her. Then to your surprise, the wine beads down your date's shirt into a nice neat pile where it can easily be blotted up with a napkin, and no stain is present. This is most likely the only nanotech clothing innovation most are familiar with from seeing the Dockers commercials on television, but really, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

What about on those excruciating 90-degree days when the air conditioner in your car is broken? Well, nanotech has thought of a solution for that too. They are designing a garment that can actually detect when the wearer is having an extreme body temperature change. The garment will then provide insulation or ventilation to the body, thereby coolin down, or even warming you up on chilly days.

And you can now forget those days of wondering if you are "SURE" or not. They are also working on a garment that can sense smell. That's right, on those days when you get a little smelly, the garment will detect the bad smell and neutralize it.
