Last Wednesday, the Green and White lost to Point Park University (27-7 overall, 7-4 AMC).
The Rock led off the match with a first set victory (26-24), but numerous errors throughout the rest of the game led to the Rock's demise in the following three sets (22-25, 25-14, 25-19).
The Green and White had 20 attack errors, nine service errors and three attack errors.
Despite the team being out of the playoff race and multiple injuries to key players throughout the season, head coach Laurie Lokash has seen many positive things from everyone who has been out on the floor.
"The team has done a good job of staying in things," she said. "We're good enough to get stuff done, we just haven't been able to finish. As for the girls who have stepped in for us, this has been their opportunity to show what they have."
Two weeks ago against Clarion University, the Rock lost the opening set, came back and played strong in the next two sets, winning one of them.
But errors once again led them to another loss.
In a game against Mercyhurst College, the Green and White took the Lakers to a fifth set, but fell 15-10.
The match against Point Park went much the same way as the previous two, except the Rock came out and took the first set.
Last Friday, SRU hosted California University of Pennsylvania (28-5 overall, 18-0 PSAC West) and was swept in the match and for the season (25-9, 25-13, 25-15).
Errors were once again a problem on the floor. The Green and White finished with 20 attack errors, five return errors and three service errors.
No Rock player reached double digits in kills, of which sophomore Kaylee Smith was the team leader with seven.
The only player to reach double digits in any statistic was senior Stacey Domer with 12 digs on the defensive end, an oddly low total.
On Saturday, the Rock welcomed Indiana University of Pennsylvania (17-15 overall, 9-9 PSAC West) and was swept for the second consecutive night in three sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-19).
After playing tough in the first set, errors once again led the team en-route to its ninth straight loss.
The Green and White totaled 16 errors on the attack, five service errors and four return errors.
Junior Keira Peoples tied Smith for the team lead in kills with 10.
She also led the team with a .444 kill percentage.
The nex closest in kill percentage was sophomore Alexa Erossy (.236)
Domer earned 19 digs, while Erossy and junior Anna Bixler totaled 12 and 10, respectively.
The Rock's record now stands at 7-23 overall and 3-14 in the PSAC West.
It'll host Gannon University (20-8 overall, 11-6 PSAC West) on Friday, Nov. 6, and then Edinboro University of Pennsylvania (21-10 overall, 12-5 PSAC West) on Saturday, Nov. 7, to close out the 2009 campaign.
"We're looking for good things next year," Lokash said.
