I smiled to myself during the volcanic eruption that takes place in Yellowstone National Park. I found it funny that just days before, I had learned that Yellowstone is actually considered a "super volcano" and that an eruption is long overdue. You may be asking yourself what a super volcano is, so let me define it for you. A super volcano is a volcano that wears a cape. I will have to confirm this with geology professor, Dr. Campbell.

I bet the science department could go on for hours about the junk science that is in this movie, but I didn't care. I was having too much fun. You will most likely have fun as well.

I really don't know how to review this movie. Please do not let a negative review by a critic stop you from seeing this movie. Is it a great film? No. Is the story nonsensical? Absolutely. Am I okay with that? You bet, and if you give it a chance, you probably will be as well.

This movie truly gives you your money's worth. It is two and half hours of blockbuster movie bliss. Should you see this movie if you want all of the movies you watch to be critical masterpieces? Nope. But if you can take a moment to have fun with a movie-to leave your critical mind at the door-there is plenty here to enjoy.

This is the second Roland Emmerich ("The Day After Tomorrow," "Independence Day") movie I have reviewed since becoming the movie critic for The Rocket. The first was "10,000 BC", and in that movie I asked the question: "Where is our ability to suspend our disbelief that we had when we were children?"

I am thankful to Emmerich for making these wonderfully preposterous films that allow us to take a break from reality and stare at the movie screen in childlike wonder.
